Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to join the Surgery Department in the Day Shift. You will coordinate schedules for physicians, operating rooms and staff to ensure timely procedures.

Responsibilities include accurate patient scheduling, sharing pre- and post-operative information, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with anesthesia providers to optimize OR time. You bring strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of medical procedures and terminology.
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication.
• Proficient computer skills; MS Office and data entry.
• Provide outstanding customer service and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules patients for surgery.
• Schedules operating rooms, surgeons and staff for procedures.
• Distributes pre- and post-operative information to patient.
• Maintains necessary documentation and logs.
• Reviews work processes to improve productivity during shift.
• Performs other functions as assigned.
• Communicates with anesthesia providers and surgery management to optimize OR time.
