TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee is seeking a Surgical Services Coordinator to act as the central contact for OR callers and to perform administrative duties enabling patient care in the operating room.

The role involves scheduling in-patient procedures, coordinating with surgeons and staff, and maintaining accurate patient information and payroll-related updates where applicable. Proficiency in typing and Microsoft Office is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Current BLS required (or obtain prior to orientation).
• Proficient typing and computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Act as central contact point for callers into the Operating Room.
• Check inventory and stock all forms and supplies daily.
• Serve as liaison between surgeons, office staff, operating room, and ancillary departments.
• Schedule in-patient surgical procedures for the department.
• Enter correct patient information into computer.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
• Accurately schedule procedures and compile monthly reports from OR statistics.
• Distribute reports to required individuals and maintain the Surgical Services Communications Board.
• Relay information in a timely, accurate manner to appropriate personnel.
• Notify appropriate personnel of changes in the surgery schedule.
