Qualifications

• High School/GED required; BLS certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a medical office or similar setting.
• Proficiency with Meditech and Microsoft Office preferred; strong communication.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred to support scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and correctly enters booking information from the requester for surgical times.
• Follows scheduling guidelines to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Edits data (staff, procedures) to maintain accuracy in the system.
• Prepares tentative and final surgical schedules and verifies details.
• Communicates changes affecting the next day’s schedule to the unit manager and Anesthesia.
• Ensures records are complete; processes billing and audits RN documentation.
• Acts as Meditech 6.0 super user for the operating room and attends updates.
• Compiles census statistics and prepares administrative reports.
