Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, seeks an OR Registered Nurse to circulate and scrub for diverse surgical cases, with full training provided. You’ll work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and teammates to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

This role emphasizes robotics experience, pre-/postoperative assessment, and collaboration with the surgical team to achieve optimal outcomes and high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN program completion.
• Current Iowa RN licensure or multi-state license.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases with full training provided.
• Participate in high-acuity specialties including cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Grow skills in robotics with hands‑on experience with leading surgical technology.
• Assess patient needs pre-, intra-, and post‑operatively, responding quickly to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and support optimal patient outcomes.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post‑op care.
• Support, guide, and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and quality initiatives.
• Float to other units or adjust shifts as needed to support patient care.
