Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our operating room team. You’ll have staffing support, advanced monitoring technology, and a culture focused on patient safety and collaboration.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients pre- and post-operatively, educating families, preparing patients, and participating in universal protocols. On-call is required during select non-business hours.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN in Florida or eligible
• BLS certification obtained within 30 days of start date
• Associate degree in nursing required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding peri-operative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Respond to patient emergencies with high-quality care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve nursing care and workflow
• Apply nursing process and clinical judgment to patient care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes throughout shift
• Educate patients and families about condition and follow-up
