Job summary

HCA Florida Westside Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN to join their surgical services team in a high‑volume setting. Expect structured self-preference scheduling and involvement in patient care planning, with on‑call requirements during select non-business hours.

You will assess patients preoperatively, educate families, manage IV therapy and medications, and ensure safety through surgical site verification and standardized protocols.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida or ability to obtain.
• ADN or higher nursing degree required.
• ACLS and BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Acute Outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education around procedures.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and meds.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies with appropriate actions.
• Deliver patient-centered care with evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, techs for optimal care.
• Document patient condition and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and follow-up.
