Job summary

Medical City McKinney is seeking an experienced RN for the OR to evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and manage perioperative care with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires RN licensure, an ADN with BSN preferred within 18 months, and at least one year of OR experience. On-call duties apply outside regular hours. Benefits are offered by the hospital network.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Associate degree in nursing; BSN preferred within 18 months.
• 1+ year experience in OR required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care following evidence-based practices.
