Job summary

MercyOne Genesis, part of Trinity Health, in Davenport, IA, seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse. The role covers intraoperative scrub and circulating duties for patients from neonate to geriatric.

The OR RN will support perioperative care, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff. Schedule is 0.9 FTE, day shift 10:00 am–6:30 pm, with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (or Illinois) at time of hire; secondary license for the other state within 12 months.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Must work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and a safe environment.
• Initiates and directs room turnover and documentation of specimens.
• Participates in orientation and training of new personnel.
• Supports department Performance Improvement activities and attends meetings.
• On-call rotation with a 30-minute response time.
