Job summary

Townsen Memorial Surgery Center - Kingwood is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist to join our team. The Radiologic Technologist prepares and operates radiographic, X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment for diagnosis and treatment under physician direction.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile fields in the OR, ensuring equipment readiness, adjusting exposure settings, minimizing radiation, and transferring images to EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology Studies.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical State Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Two (2) years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility (with one year in the operating room).

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and implement best practices in the operating room.
• Ensure all radiographic supplies and equipment are present and functional.
• Adjust kilovoltage and milliamperage to prescribed specifications.
• Minimize radiation exposure with shielding and protective devices.
• Position patients and adjust equipment for optimal X-ray results.
• Review X-ray images for clarity and retake as needed.
• Distribute films and transfer images to EMR.
• Perform quality control checks on X-ray units.
• Schedule repairs and minor equipment adjustments as needed.
• Maintain imaging procedure quality by following standards.
• Report safety hazards and accidents promptly.
• Communicate hazards to peers and management.
• Protect patient privacy per HIPAA requirements.
• Follow all safety rules and company conduct standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
