Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital West is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to prepare and operate radiographic, X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment under physician direction. The role requires maintaining sterile fields, ensuring equipment readiness, and minimizing radiation exposure in a fast-paced OR setting.

You will perform patient positioning, image quality checks, and transfer images to EMR while complying with HIPAA and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology Studies.
• Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Two (2) years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility (with one year in the operating room).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate radiographic, X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment.
• Maintain sterile field and best practices in the operating room.
• Adjust kilovoltage and milliamperage for proper exposure.
• Minimize radiation exposure with protection measures.
• Position patient and adjust equipment for optimal images.
• Distribute films and transfer images to EMR.
• Conduct QC checks on radiographic unit and maintain standards.
