Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital West is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to join our team. The position involves preparing and operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment under physician direction, with emphasis on patient safety and image quality.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Radiologic Technology education, Texas MRT license, ARRT certification, and a BLS card, plus at least two years of radiology experience including OR exposure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an Associate’s Degree in Radiology Studies.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Two years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility, with one year in the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and follow best practices in the operating room.
• Ensure radiographic supplies and equipment are available and functional.
• Set kilovoltage and milliamperage to prescribed specifications.
• Minimize radiation exposure with proper shielding and beam control.
• Position patients for X-ray procedures to obtain quality images.
• Review X-rays for clarity and request retakes if needed.
• Distribute films and transfer images to EMR.
• Run quality control checks on the X-ray unit.
