Job summary

Lakewood Medical Center is seeking a Perioperative PACU RN to provide comprehensive care in the OR and PACU. You will perform pre-operative assessments, assist during procedures, and monitor patients through recovery, ensuring safe transitions and effective pain management.

The role requires maintaining licensure, BCLS and ACLS (within 90 days), with PALS if needed, and radiology competency if applicable. Collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with Missouri license or eligibility.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification, if required by department.
• Radiology training/competency if radiology functions exist.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room (OR) care: assist and support surgical teams during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• PACU care: monitor post-anesthesia patients, manage pain, assess vitals, and ensure safe recovery.
• Pre-operative assessments to ensure patients are physically and mentally prepared for surgery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans; participate in education and mentorship of nursing staff.
