Job summary

UW Medical Center–Northwest is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager/RN3 to lead nursing operations in the Main Operating Room. The role partners with the Nurse Manager and RN3 peers to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative care.

This full-time position in Seattle offers leadership responsibilities, patient flow coordination, and opportunities to influence unit performance. Candidates should have OR experience and a BSN, with MSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or valid Multistate license.
• Surgical Scrub experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Masters Preferred.
• Minimum of two years of professional surgical nursing experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Demonstrated experience as an Operating Room registered nurse, with proficiency in perioperative nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate care across departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff.
• Support staff education, onboarding, and ongoing competency development.
• Assist with daily operations, including patient flow and staffing coordination.
• Promote effective communication among patients, families, and care team.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of care.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and support to team members.
• Serve as charge nurse as assigned and participate in committees as needed.
• Assist with unit goals, program development, and process improvements.
