Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Surgical Services Instrument Coordinator to optimize the management of instrument trays, loaners, and associated equipment in the OR and procedural areas.

You will oversee inventory across owned, consigned, and loaned items, operate the instrument tracking system, perform data entry, and educate staff on processes. Collaboration with Surgical Services, Educators and Managers is essential to maintain compliant, efficient instrument workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a certified sterile processing technician program.
• 2 years sterile processing and/or OR experience including surgical tech experience.
• Inventory management experience, preferably for instrument inventory.
• Experience with MS Office applications.
• Experience with enterprise software such as EMR/HIS/ORIS/SPIS.
• Patient- and family-centered care knowledge; effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices and sterile processing standards.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage surgical instrumentation, loaners and equipment for daily OR operations.
• Oversee inventory across owned, consigned and loaned trays and equipment.
• Manage instrument and loaner tracking software, including data entry and staff education.
• Collaborate with Surgical Services and unit leaders on instrument allocation and maintenance.
• Coordinate with SPCC/OR teams to ensure timely reprocessing and availability of instruments.
• Support policy/procedure development related to instruments and loaners.
