Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Sterile Process Technician to support operating rooms and related departments. The role handles decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments to ensure safe, timely patient care.

The position involves inventory management, adherence to aseptic technique, and collaboration with interprofessional teams to maintain high-quality sterile processing standards. On-site work across campus locations is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a certified sterile processing technician training program.
• New hires must obtain certification within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and dispense surgical instrumentation and trays for ORs and related areas.
• Operate washers and sterilizers following manufacturers' instructions and department policies.
• Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of sterile supplies and equipment.
• Assist with on-site and campus-wide responsibilities as assigned by SPD leadership.

Education

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program

Certification within 6 months of hire date
