Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking an experienced Surgical Services Equipment and Instrument Specialist to ensure all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functional for the day of surgery. You will bridge Surgical Services and Supply Chain, drive standardization, and support OR teams with education and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with CST certification.
• Experience in surgical settings and knowledge of OR equipment and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with supply chain processes and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and functionality of standard and specialized surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Serve as the liaison between Surgical Services and Supply Chain for equipment, instruments, materials and disposables.
• Support product evaluations, trials, and standardization initiatives to improve quality and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with Sterile Processing, OR staff, physicians, vendors, and Supply Chain partners.
• Maintain and optimize surgeon preference cards.
• Provide education, training, and troubleshooting support for OR teams.
• Assist with inventory management, special orders, and equipment repairs.
• Participate in value analysis, utilization review, and sourcing activities.
• Scrub in on cases as needed to maintain clinical expertise and support staff development.
