Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced OR Technologist to organize and manage surgical instrumentation for the operating room and sterile processing departments. You will coordinate instrument maintenance, train staff, and collaborate with OR and SPD leadership to ensure readiness for procedures.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in an OR and hold ORT or CST certification, with strong analytical and leadership abilities to drive quality and efficiency in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with and knowledge of surgical instruments.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in an OR.
• Current operating room technologist (ORT) or certified surgical technologist (CST).

Responsibilities

• Organizes daily activities for surgical instrumentation ordering, presentation, maintenance, and preparation.
• Assists in developing and troubleshooting instrument issues.
• Coordinates Quality Management activities for OR and SPD.
• Acts as liaison between OR and SPD; coordinates policy alignment.
• Develops and implements staff training for surgical instrumentation.
• Provides input to OR/ SPD leadership on instrumentation issues.
• Ensures case carts, trays, instruments, and supplies are ready for procedures.
