Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking an Environmental Service Assistant to support the operating room by transporting patients and performing core cleaning and setup tasks. You will contribute to sterile supply preparation and assist in maintaining patient care areas with attentiveness and efficiency.

The role requires a High School Diploma and 1+ year in environmental services or related work, plus BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1+ year in environmental service or related field preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, and set up sterile supplies and equipment for surgery.
• Transport patients between care units as needed.
• Handle specimens and cultures with proper transport and disposition.
• Obtain blood products and return unused items as required.
• Assist with room turnover and cleaning between cases.
• Operate cleaning machines and related equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms, beds, floors and fixtures.
• Perform all duties related to assisting the operating room.
