Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking an OR Nurse who will serve as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room, delivering individualized patient care in line with hospital and AORN/ASPAN/SGNA standards.

Requirements include a valid CT RN license, BLS; ACLS within 6 months if not already; BSN preferred and 1 year acute care with 2 years surgical experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CT RN License
• BSN preferred
• BLS Certification required, ACLS to be obtained within 6 months if candidate does not already possess certification
• 1 year of acute care, two years surgical experience preferred
• Must be able to communicate effectively, and work closely with all physicians and staff
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Function as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room.
• Organize and administer individualized, professional patient care.
• Participate in patient teaching; adapt care to age/cultural groups.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
