Qualifications

• Active NM state nursing license or compact license
• BLS certification required at time of hire
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification

Responsibilities

• Oversee perioperative nursing care before, during and after surgical procedures
• Coordinate patient care with patients, families and the surgical team
• Direct and delegate patient care tasks to licensed staff and aides
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to surgical standards
• Assist in education for ICD-9/diagnoses relevant to perioperative care
• Supervise home health aides in line with Medicare/Medicaid rules
• Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice standards and hospital policies
