Job summary

LensCrafters, part of EssilorLuxottica, seeks an Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience by supporting exam processes and patient care in our Bloomington, IL location.

You will assist the optometrist, collect patient history, prepare patients for examination, perform pre-exam testing, input data into the CIAO system, and maintain organized patient records in a HIPAA-compliant environment while guiding patients with courtesy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/external).
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Knowledge of office environment.
• Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly with a smile and display a professional image.
• Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Assist the optometrist in eye examinations; obtain medical history and prepare patient for examination.
• Review prescriptions and patient information; identify special needs and consult with management when necessary.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of all patient records and data.
• Support retention and examination scheduling, including NEE calls and no-show callbacks.
• Handle and organize the contact lens room and orders.
