Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous optometry/ophthalmology/healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong computer and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance.
• Optometric/Ophthalmic Technician certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for comprehensive eye examinations.
• Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories.
• Perform preliminary vision testing (visual acuity and color vision).
• Perform diagnostic testing such as tonometry, visual fields, lensometry.
• Assist the optometrist during examinations and procedures.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment.
• Enter accurate patient information into electronic medical records.
• Educate patients on procedures, contact lens care, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized examination rooms and equipment.
• Provide professional and compassionate customer service.
• Assist with patient flow and other clinical duties as assigned.
