Job summary

United Health Centers is seeking an Optical Technician to join our state-of-the-art health centers. You will work with our Optometrist to provide ophthalmic assistance, fit and dispense eyewear, and explain insurance coverage, while maintaining inventory in a patient-friendly environment.

The role emphasizes strong patient care, bilingual communication and teamwork, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a comprehensive benefits package. Prior optical experience is welcomed, and CPR may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Preferred optical experience or optician license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an optical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide optical support; promote a smooth patient flow; record data accurately.
• Assist with fitting, ordering and dispensing eyeglasses or contact lenses as directed by the optometrist.
• Explain insurance benefits and coverage of vision supplies to patients.
• Maintain optical inventory and clean equipment regularly.
• Support patients and clinicians in the optical area and ensure proper documentation.
