Job summary

Eyemart Express is hiring a Front Desk Associate (Optometrist's Technician) in a full-time role. The position supports the store Doctor, greets patients, performs pre-tests, assists with contact lens orders, and drives sales while ensuring HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, retail/customer service experience, and a willingness to train in optical procedures. Eyemart emphasizes work-life balance and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in retail, customer service, or sales is preferred.
• Optical industry experience is a plus, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, pricing, policies, returns and exchanges.
• Compute and process payment transactions/refunds using the in-house POS system.
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
• Process insurance claims efficiently.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products.
• Create and maintain patient files in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Input patient information into the computer system accurately.
• Assess patients' needs based on prescription requirements, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation, and suggest appropriate products.
• Sign-in patients and document insurance eligibility before services.
• Perform a thorough pre-test as directed by the Doctor (NCT, auto-refraction, etc.).
• Order and receive contact lenses, call for pick-up/status, and deliver lenses.
• Assist with inventory control, merchandising, and monthly inventory.
