Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Eagan, MN is seeking an Associate Optometrist to serve as the clinical partner to the Vision Center Manager, delivering evidence-based eye care and leading patient interactions with compassion and professionalism.

You will perform comprehensive eye exams, prescribe and fit glasses and contact lenses, coordinate with ophthalmology when needed, and help implement in-store eyecare programs using advanced digital phoropters, EMR, and Maestro OCT technology.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school; Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
• OD degree or equivalent and state licensure required to practice optometry.
• Experience using vision care technology and patient management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidence-based vision care and prescribes medications and treatments per state scope of practice; educates patients and staff on eye health and follow-up care.
• Evaluates patients across the full vision center scope and conducts comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and manage conditions.
• Prescribes, fits, and adjusts eyeglasses and contact lenses; orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
• Represents Walmart Vision Center by delivering strong customer service and maintaining patient records in the EMR system.
• Develops and communicates business strategies to meet patient and community needs; collaborates with internal/external healthcare partners.
• Leads talent development and mentorship to cultivate a skilled workforce within the vision center.
• Embraces new technology and advanced instrumentation to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
