Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Bloomington, MN seeks a licensed Doctor of Optometry to join our Optometry team.

As the clinical partner to the Vision Center Manager, you will provide evidence-based vision care, prescribe medications, and help advance eyecare for our customers. You will educate patients and staff, coordinate with ophthalmologists when needed, and maintain comprehensive records while embracing Walmart’s commitment to affordable, high-quality eye health.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
• Preferred: completion of a PGY-1 in area of emphasis (e.g., family practice, low vision care, pediatric or geriatric optometry, ocular disease).

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based vision care to ensure patient health and well-being, including prescribing medications and other treatments.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity, eye health, and refractive status.
• Educate patients and store staff on eye health, contact lens care, and disease management; coordinate patient follow-up.
• Refer to ophthalmologists or other healthcare professionals when needed and document care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with state regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines.
