Job summary

Walmart in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join our Vision Center team. You will provide evidence-based eye care, perform comprehensive exams, prescribe treatment, and educate patients while collaborating with store staff to ensure exceptional service.

Qualified candidates hold a Doctor of Optometry, are licensed in good standing, and have the autonomy to engage with the community. This role offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from accredited optometry school.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
• Preferred: PGY-1 in area of emphasis (e.g., family practice, low vision care, pediatric or ocular disease).

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based vision care and prescribe medications per guidelines; perform routine vision exams.
• Educate patients and store associates on eye health and contact lens care.
• Consult with ophthalmologists and other health professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
• Review patient medical history and perform comprehensive eye examinations to ensure proper diagnosis.
• Document patient history, assessments, and treatment plans in a timely manner.
