Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join the Vision Center team. The role partners with the Vision Center Manager to deliver high-quality eye care in a fast-paced retail setting and to serve the local community with accessible eyecare solutions.

The OD must be licensed, hold a Doctorate of Optometry, and be proficient with EMR/EHR systems while embracing new diagnostic tools and technologies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from accredited optometry school.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
• EMR/EHR experience.
• Eagerness to embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation.
• Experience in treating and managing ocular disease.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based vision care and prescribe medications and other treatment options.
• Deliver routine vision care using evidence-based care guidelines.
• Educate patients and store associates on eye health, including contact lens care and safety.
• Consult with other health professionals to prepare patient care plans.
• Embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation (e.g., digital phoropters, EMR).
• Manage and participate in optical operations within the Vision Center.
