Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join our Vision Center team and advance eyecare affordably for customers. The role partners with the Vision Center Manager to deliver high-quality eye care and engage with the community.

You will conduct comprehensive eye exams, prescribe eyewear and medications when appropriate, and educate patients while collaborating with store pharmacists and clinicians to coordinate care in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry license and eligibility to practice in the state.
• Strong ability to deliver evidence-based eye care and educate patients.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and connect with the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based vision care, prescribe medications when appropriate, and coordinate patient care per state guidelines.
• Perform comprehensive eye examinations, assess visual acuity, refraction, and eye health.
• Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain patient records in vision center systems.
• Collaborate with Vision Center Manager and store clinicians to support patient care and operations.
