Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking an optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care and emergency ocular services in a federal setting. You will perform exams, diagnose and treat diseases, and deliver primary eye care across clinical settings.

The role requires Doctor of Optometry, NBEO licensure, and eligibility for licensure in appropriate jurisdictions; federal requirements apply, including background and security checks.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an AC OOE-accredited program.
• Passing NBEO exams and full, unrestricted license to practice optometry.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of professional optometric duties: examine, diagnose, treat visual diseases.
• Diagnose and treat wide range of eye diseases and ocular conditions.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care including examination, diagnosis and treatment.
• Offer emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
