Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a licensed optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care to Native communities. The role includes examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency ocular care within the federal healthcare system.

Qualified candidates will meet OD licensure, NBEO requirements, and may qualify for GS-11 or GS-12 level with residency or equivalent experience. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized.

Qualifications

• Professional optometric duties including comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment.
• Ability to manage ocular diseases and provide primary eye care.
• Emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of professional optometric duties: examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular diseases.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care and emergency ocular services as required.
