Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks an optometrist to deliver comprehensive eye care to Native communities. You will perform exams, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and provide emergency ocular care across settings.

You must hold a Doctor of Optometry and NBEO licensure with eligible for US licensure. This on-site federal role offers competitive benefits and a path to GS-11/12 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program (ACOE).
• Licensure: NBEO passing with current, full, unrestricted optometry license in US territories.”
• Experience: GS-11/12 level requires residency or 1 year of professional optometry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of professional optometric duties: exams, diagnosis, and treatment of ocular diseases.
• Diagnose and treat wide range of eye diseases and provide comprehensive primary eye care.
• Provide emergency ocular care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
