This pre‑award recruitment opportunity supports up to two optometrists with responsibilities including eye exams, management of ocular conditions, patient education, EHR documentation, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an ACOE‑accredited program.
• Current, active, unrestricted optometry license in the U.S.
• Completion of a one‑year accredited residency or one year of professional optometry experience within the past 24 months.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Electronic health record proficiency and fluent English communication.
• Ability to meet IHS credentialing, privileging, employee‑health, and background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient optometric care to patients of all ages, averaging 12–16 patients daily.
• Perform eye examinations and diagnose, treat, and manage visual and ocular conditions within approved clinical privileges.
• Provide patient education, referrals, and follow‑up care.

About the Position

Vision Quest Solutions is seeking qualified optometrists for an anticipated contract at Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center in Sisseton, South Dakota. This is a pre‑award recruiting opportunity for up to two contract optometrists. Employment is contingent upon contract award and completion of IHS credentialing and onboarding.

Position Details

• Job Type: Contract
• Location: 100 Lake Traverse Drive, Sisseton, SD 57262
• Pay: To be confirmed
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Holidays: No work on recognized federal holidays or government-directed facility closures.
• Anticipated Start: December 1, 2026, subject to award and confirmation.
• Duration: Anticipated one-year assignment; final dates to be confirmed.
• Housing, Travel and Lodging: Arrangements to be confirmed during recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient optometric care to patients of all ages, averaging 12–16 patients daily.
