Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams.
• Build long-term patient relationships through care and education.
• Interview patients pre-exam to assess health and ocular history.
• Advise options for remediation of refractive errors and diseases.
• Foster patient loyalty and promote optometry values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose refractive errors and ocular diseases.
• Prescribe glasses, contacts, and medications.
• Suggest treatments like vision therapy or sights rehab.
• Provide pre- and postoperative eye care.
• Screen for systemic diseases and refer as needed.
• Counsel on eye health and contact lens care.
• Communicate recommendations to staff for optimal lenses.
