Job summary

Acuity Eyecare Group is seeking an Optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye exams, establish long-term patient relationships, and educate patients on eyecare to support ongoing health.

The role includes performing vision tests, diagnosing refractive errors and ocular diseases, prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses and medications, providing pre- and postoperative care, and referring patients as needed while collaborating with staff to recommend the latest coatings and lens designs.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed program.
• Successful completion of optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams.
• Establish long term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
• Verbal interview to determine health and ocular history and needs.
• Instructs, recommends, and advises patients on remediation options for ametropias and diseases; hand off to staff for recap.
• Promote eye health and educate patients on lens choices and care.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care after eye surgery and refer when needed.
• Evaluate for systemic diseases and refer appropriately.
• Counsel patients and communicate recommendations to opticians.
