Job summary

Acuity Eyecare group is seeking a licensed optometrist to conduct comprehensive eye examinations and manage ocular health on-site. You will educate patients and build lasting relationships while providing vision care and refractive services.

The role emphasizes patient education, accurate diagnostics, and coordination with staff to ensure high-quality eyecare and updated lens options.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Establish long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit and visual wants and needs.
• Instructs, recommends and advises patients on options for remediation of ametropias and ocular disease; hand-off to staff with recap discussion.
• Generate patient loyalty and promote Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care after eye surgery.
• Evaluate patients for diseases such as diabetes and refer to other providers.
• Counsel patients on eye health and lens options with up-to-date coatings and designs.
