Job summary

Walmart Associate Optometrist partners with the Vision Center Manager to deliver evidence-based eye care and expand affordable eyecare in the community. You will perform comprehensive exams, prescribe medications, educate patients, and coordinate with ophthalmologists.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Optometry from an accredited optometry school.
• Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
• PGY-1 in area of emphasis (family practice, pediatric or geriatric optometry, ocular disease) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidence-based vision care, prescribes medications and other treatments.
• Educates patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, disease state management, and safety factors.
• Consults with other health professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
• Reviews patient history, performs comprehensive eye exams, and documents treatment plans promptly.
• Delivers exceptional customer service and supports patient engagement in the vision center.
