Job summary

HealthDrive is seeking an Optometrist for a part-time role (3 days per week) in South Bend, IN and nearby areas. You will provide optometry services in nursing homes and long-term care facilities with on-site support and no patient quotas.

The position offers fiscal opportunities of $105k+ (prorated for 3 days/week), mileage reimbursement, and full administrative support. Flexible schedule and 100% malpractice coverage are included.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry (OD) is required.
• State professional license is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• TPA certification / Legend Drug certificate is required.
• Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to use email, internet and healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Provide general optometry services to residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities.
• Diagnose and manage refractive and ocular disorders.
• Examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases of the visual system and eye.
• Identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
• Document patient information in the EMR system during daily travel to facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Optometrist will provide general optometry services to the residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities within an assigned territory.

Essential Functions:

• Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
• Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
• Identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
• Enters patient information and completes required clinical documentation in our cutting-edge EMR system.Mobile model treatment of patients requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
