Job summary

HealthDrive Corporation seeks a part-time Optometrist to serve residents in South Bend, IN and surrounding areas. This role offers 3 days per week with flexible scheduling, no evenings or weekend hours, and a patient base with established referrals.

On-site responsibilities include comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing refractive and ocular conditions, and coordinating care across facilities. Compensation targets $105k+ pro-rated for 3 days/week, with full benefits for full-time staff and robust

Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) required.
  • State professional license required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • TPA certification / Legend Drug Certificate required.
  • Ability to work independently daily.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with email, internet and EMR software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general optometry services for residents in nursing/assisted living facilities.
  • Diagnose and treat refractive and ocular disorders related to aging.
  • Examine and manage diseases of the visual system and eye structures.
  • Identify systemic conditions affecting the eye.
  • Enter patient data and document in EMR system.
  • Travel daily to skilled nursing facilities to treat patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

HealthDrive is currently seeking an Optometrist, to work part-time (3 days per week) in South Bend, IN and surrounding areas (including Granger, Goshen, New Carlisle, Notre Dame).

Responsibilities

The Optometrist will provide general optometry services to the residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities within an assigned territory.

Essential Functions
  • Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
  • Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
  • Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
  • Identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
  • Enters patient information and completes required clinical documentation in our cutting-edge EMR system.
  • Mobile model treatment of patients requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
