Job summary

Target Optical is seeking a Part-Time Optometric Technician to join our team. You will assist with patient care and eye exams, manage patient records, and support the optometrist with testing and measurements to ensure high-quality care.

You will handle scheduling, maintain equipment, and assist with contact lens services. Weekend/evening availability helps us meet patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.)
• Coaching skills and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, manage patient records and flow.
• Perform tests to aid the optometrist, including acuity measurements and retinal imaging.
• Review prescriptions and patient information for accuracy.
• Maintain and file patient records in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Operate the POS system and handle sales transactions when needed.
• Support contact lens exams, orders, and inventory as required.
