Job summary

LensCrafters, part of EssilorLuxottica, is hiring a part-time Optometric Technician to support eye exams and patient care. You will assist with patient flow, perform tests, and help the doctor deliver high-quality ocular services.

This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail eye care environment. Weekend and evening availability will be needed to align with store hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding of optical equipment and pre-exam testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage patient flow and multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Good math skills and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Perform tests aiding the optometrist with vision examinations including acuity, depth and color perception, and retinal imaging.
• Process orders for contact lenses and assist with inventory and patient orders.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and handle transactions following procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and keep the exam area clean and organized.
• Support attendance, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination with the Practice Manager.
