Job summary

MyEyeDr. is hiring an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, conducting preliminary tests, and learning to use pretest equipment.

No optical experience is required; training will be provided. You will assist with screenings, patient comfort, and collaboration with the care team, including some weekend and evening shifts to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required or equivalent.
• Friendly, patient demeanor with patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented approach to working with optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about optics and eye care; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history, and prep for optometrist exam.
• Ensure smooth flow of patients to the doctor and staff during appointments.
• Make patients comfortable with procedures they will undergo.
• Learn to operate pretest equipment for visual screenings.
• Provide contact lens training for applicable patients and perform preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver a seamless patient experience.
