America's Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an optometric technician to support pre-screenings and testing prior to Doctor examinations in a retail optical setting. The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, professional presentation, and efficient patient flow.

No prior optical experience is required as training is provided; a strong emphasis on customer service and the ability to learn ocular terminology is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Ability to instruct customers clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a retail optical setting.
• Maintain professional atmosphere and appearance of the doctor’s office and pretest area.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases; know ocular abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examination types to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform pre-exam testing.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings where appropriate.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully and coordinate with optician, Doctor or Retail Management.
