Americas Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an Optometric Technician to support patient flow by performing pre-screenings and testing before the Doctor’s examination. The role emphasizes high quality patient care in a fast-paced retail optical environment.

The position does not require prior optical experience; training is provided. You will maintain a professional office area, explain exam steps to patients, and collaborate with the optometrist and retail management to ensure smooth

Qualifications

• Previous retail/optical experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Able to explain procedures to customers clearly.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain professional atmosphere in doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients and promote screenings.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Review prescriptions and patient information for special needs; consult with optician/doctor as needed.
• Maintain exam equipment and pre-test devices.
• Promote retinal screenings and visual field testing to eligible patients.
