America's Best, part of National Vision, seeks an Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant to support doctors with pre-screenings and testing and keep patient flow efficient in a busy optical clinic. No prior optical experience is required; training provided.

Sundays off are offered and there are opportunities for growth. The role includes performing pretests, explaining procedures, maintaining equipment, and delivering high-quality care with professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care and smooth patient flow in the clinic.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance in the doctor’s office and pretest area.
• Understand ocular terminology and abbreviations used in testing.
• Explain to patients the types of preliminary examinations before the Doctor’s examination.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing prior to the Doctor’s visit.
• Promote vision field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, and discuss needs with the optician or Doctor as needed.
• Ensure Doctor’s and pre-test equipment are properly maintained.
