AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our team and collaborate with Optometrists to support all aspects of patient care and education, ensuring an efficient, high-quality experience from start to finish.

The role involves pre-testing, post-exam tasks, documentation in EHR, and scheduling. You will work in a fast-paced environment, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, and support referrals and patient communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional collaboration with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Record and communicate patient information in the EHR; assist with medical documentation and CPT/billing tasks.
• Schedule referral appointments and manage recall/appointments to optimize schedule utilization.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks; may act as scribe or assist with refractions.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies; handle inquiries about medications and treatment.
