About the role

As an Optometric Technician for MyEyeDr., you play an essential role by providing direct support to our Doctors of Optometry in preparing the patient for their visit, including preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience? No problem! You will be provided training and tools needed to learn about an industry that delivers our patients a best-in-class experience to help them see and live their best lives. Join our team today and help provide the highest quality vision care to our patients. This role reports to the Office General Manager but will directly support our Doctor(s). Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

Description
  • Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prepare for the optometrist exam.
  • Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the doctor and other office staff throughout appointments.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will be exposed to during their appointment.
  • Learn to use all pretest equipment to perform visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor, through company training.
  • Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and perform other preliminary testing.
  • Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide a seamless patient experience.
About You
  • High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand and do basic math.
  • Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening processes.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the optometrist.
  • Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
  • Collaborative team player committed to providing the best patient experience.
  • Prior healthcare/medical/optical background is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
