Qualifications

• Experience performing ophthalmic tests and measurements.

• Capable of using EMR systems and following protocols.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Performs testing required by the exam scheduled, patient history, and symptoms.
• Acts as a scribe during examinations, entering data into EMR.
• Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
• Performs lensometry, refractometry, tonometry, and basic muscle balance testing.
• Administers medications under physician direction.
• Assists with procedures, ensuring informed consent and proper setup/teardown.
• Maintains exam room cleanliness and complies with regulations.
• Supports training of other ophthalmic assistants and patient education.
• Maintains professionalism and reliability in daily duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
