The Floating Hospital in New York City seeks an Optometric Technician to support patient care and eye examinations within our clinic and shelter-connected settings.
You will screen patients, take medical histories, administer eyedrops, educate patients, assist with scheduling, and ensure exam rooms and equipment are cleaned and sanitized.
Prior experience preferred; EMR software proficiency required; Spanish or other languages are a plus.

The Optometric Technician will perform duties in The Floating Hospital clinic and at shelters connected with the agency. The office is temperature-controlled and the noise level is kept to a minimum in accordance with professional office practices. The agency observes a no-smoking policy.
Prior experience as an Optometric Technician preferred; strong attention to detail required; must be able to multitask; must have experience with EMR software; possess a pleasant demeanor and positive attitude when interacting with patients and staff; ability to speak Spanish or other languages preferable.
