As an Optometric Technician, you will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks including assisting patients with optical selections, completing sales, interpreting insurance benefits, pre‑testing, data collection, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office.

Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred

  • Interpret insurance benefits and calculate correct patient responsibility amounts.
  • Make optical lens recommendations in accordance with the Optometrist's exam findings and recommendations.
  • Close optical sales and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Dispense optical orders to patients, ensuring proper fit and patient education on eyewear.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for patient management.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patient experience.
Sensory and Motor Requirements
  • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Extensive use of computers.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly.
  • Free to move about offices, practice locations.
  • Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
